Spanish police arrested two brothers who attempted to sell a fake Fancisco de Goya painting to a “sheikh” – a wealthy Arab who managed to outsmart the con artists.  All they got were photocopies of the notes, which must have made for an interesting scene when they tried to deposit it at the bank.  The brothers are also out €300,000 (of real money) that was paid to the middleman who introduced them to the buyer, and €80,000 of that was borrowed from a friend and expected to be returned the next day.
